Kathak dance is a major classical dance form of North India with a distinctive use of ankle bells, hand gestures, oral notation and costumes.

PRSSV Sangeet College has been running classes in West London for over 30 years; our teachers are all experienced and they are also skilled performers. In our courses you will learn the basics of Kathak dance as well as being exposed to some of the spiritual and cultural aspects of this dance, its performance and study.

Beginner:taking you from the very beginning of learning kathak to being able to give a short performances in classical kathak and light dance forms including Bhajans and film dance.
Intermediate: developing your dance skills and at the same time deepening your understanding of taal, simple dance improvisation and how to develop a performance.
Advance: helping you develop your repertoire and improvising and composing skills with opportunities to perform to supportive audiences.
