Learn to play the Sitar in a supportive and enjoyable environment and where you will be given opportunities to perform. People of all ages and backgrounds welcome. No prior knowledge of Indian music required.
The sitar is a plucked stringed instrument, originating from the Indian subcontinent. This instrument became popularly known in the wider world through the works of Ravi Shankar, beginning in the late 1950s and early 1960s.
PRSSV Sangeet College offers a fantastic opportunity to get hands-on experience with this wonderful instrument in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Students have the option to take recognised examinations as their skills and knowledge develops.
PRSSV Sangeet College has been teaching in West London for over 30 years; our teachers are all experienced and they are also skilled performers. In our courses you will learn the basics of the instrument and of North Indian music as well as being exposed to some of the spiritual and cultural aspects of this music, its performance and study.
PRSSV Mission: "We enrich the lives of the people we touch through education and performance, and collaborations with Indian classical music and dance."
