Bharti Mehta is a qualified artist who studied art and teachers training at Si J J College, Mumbai, and the Faculty of Fine Arts in Baroda, India. Having settled in London, she has taken part in many classes at Harrow Arts Centre, run by well known artists such as Laura Rieter and Cheryl Gould.
Focusing on semi-abstract and abstract art, Bharti uses mixed media; Acrylic, oils, crayons, charcoal, graphite and collage. Most work is spontaneous, and intuitive without any initial planning.
She states: ‘When I paint, I let my emotions and subconscious dictate the subject, adding and reducing layers of paint until I am satisfied with the final result. My work is mainly inspired by nature and art history.’
This will be her first solo exhibition, although she has exhibited in group exhibitions in past.
