#Srishti30XHAC is a gala virtual performance presented by Srishti – Nina Rajarani Dance Creations, featuring a compilation of 30 classical Indian dance and music performances from across the country. Srishti celebrates its 30th birthday in April 2021 which also means 30 years at their home venue, the Harrow Arts Centre. The performance commemorates this milestone by bringing together artists and organisations who work hard to promote and preserve classical Indian dance and music traditions.
The performance will conclude with Srishti Squared, a 15-minute digital dance film created remotely by Srishti Dance Creations by engaging ten professional dancers and musicians during the first lockdown. Srishti Squared was influenced by the experiences of the pandemic and the effect of lockdown, and was funded by Arts Council England.
Srishti Squared offers a most complete and satisfying experience for the viewer: compact, multi-layered, visually exciting, tonally rich and performed with verve. The film is an example of what could be referred to as a ‘Covid dividend’- the special circumstances of the lockdown that have provided a spurt to creativity and pushed digital art to new heights.
