Harrow View East Former Kodak Factory Public Art Model Session
With Artist Tom Pearman
This is a past event
Dates & TimesEver wondered how an artist creates public art? Artist Tom Pearman is running a fun creative workshop to share how he creates ideas for projects. Aimed at 19 – 26-year-olds, this session will involve investigating and making simple, experimental models for public art using a range of graphics and small objects. The models will be photographed and arranged with miniature architecture figures to give them a sense of scale.
Participants will gather experience of how public art is developed at its concept stage. Tom will discuss how this process helps generate ideas from its initial stages to final designs for a commissioned piece of sculpture in the outdoors. The session will last for approximately 2-3 hrs. All equipment and materials will be provided. Tom will bring a collection of small objects and graphics to the session, but if you want to bring any small artworks and objects yourself, please do! Tom will also bring a white back drop, camera, tripod and architectural model figures.
Tom is the appointed artist working at the former Kodak factory. He is currently researching and developing ideas for the new development Harrow View East. Tom has a BA Hons from Brighton University and a Master's degree from the Royal College of Art. He has successfully completed several large-scale public art projects. Clients include housing developers, architectural firms, private and public galleries, the NHS, public art commissioning agencies and local authorities. www.tompearman.co.uk
