Good Ancestors - Portrait Drawing Workshop
Presented by HACAn Easter Holiday Workshop
This is a past event
Dates & TimesPeople in the past commissioned portraits of themselves so that they could show the world how they wanted to be remembered. The workshop will start by looking at some historic portraits from all over the world (all at least 100 years old) and deciphering what the sitters are trying to tell us about themselves.
Next, you will develop your own self-portraits aimed at delivering a message to your descendants 100 years in the future. This is a chance to think about how we are contributing to a positive future and to develop a positive view of ourselves.
We will be making decisions about what we put in the background, what we will wear, if we will include any objects in the picture and what these will tell a viewer 100 years in the future. Participants will be given a frame to take their picture home in.
This workshop is presented with funding support from Learn Harrow. You will be required to register with Learn Harrow to take part in this workshop - instructions will follow in a separate email. It is really important you register as future funding for similar events depends on it.
A £1 non-refundable booking fee applies per booking transaction online and over the phone
