Srishti is an independent Indian dance and music organisation run by Nina Rajarani MBE.
The organisation is made up of four main facets:
Provides traditional training in classical Bharatanatyam and Karnatic Music and has been established at the Harrow Arts Centre since 1999. Since 2016, Kathak dance classes have been added to the school’s portfolio. The school is an Approved Dance Centre of the ISTD which means that it is able to provide professional training to teachers of Bharatanatyam and Kathak that leads to the teaching qualifications DDI (Diploma in Dance Instruction) and DDE (Diploma in Dance Education).
A touring youth group, set up in 2006, that provides professional development to bridge the gap between student training and professional performance. The group also provides education work to promote and educate people in Indian dance and music.
A Bharatanatyam touring dance company that exists to create and present work that maintains the authenticity of Indian classical dance and music whilst presenting these forms in innovative ways and within contemporary contexts.
The organisation’s outreach education department that works alongside the touring company. The education programmes are connected to the themes explored in Srishti’s touring work and address topical subjects with young people in particular.
