Harrow Music Service

Harrow Music Service (HMS) provide instrumental and vocal tuition, advice and training to support schools throughout the borough.
They work with over 50 schools across Harrow (both primary and secondary) and are striving to support music within the curriculum through the School Music Education Plan.
HMS also offer out of school access to music education through both their music tuition programme BRAVO! and weekly music groups and choirs.
HMS is the lead organisation in the Harrow Music Education Hub which works to review music education for young people in Harrow; offering more opportunities and supporting others who do the same.

Srishti
Srishti is an independent Indian dance and music organisation run by Nina Rajarani MBE.
The organisation is made up of four main facets:
Srishti – Nina Rajarani Dance School
Provides traditional training in classical Bharatanatyam and Karnatic Music and has been established at the Harrow Arts Centre since 1999. Since 2016, Kathak dance classes have been added to the school’s portfolio. The school is an Approved Dance Centre of the ISTD which means that it is able to provide professional training to teachers of Bharatanatyam and Kathak that leads to the teaching qualifications DDI (Diploma in Dance Instruction) and DDE (Diploma in Dance Education).

Srishti – Yuva Culture
A touring youth group, set up in 2006, that provides professional development to bridge the gap between student training and professional performance. The group also provides education work to promote and educate people in Indian dance and music.
Srishti – Nina Rajarani Dance Creations
A Bharatanatyam touring dance company that exists to create and present work that maintains the authenticity of Indian classical dance and music whilst presenting these forms in innovative ways and within contemporary contexts.
Srishti Skills
The organisation’s outreach education department that works alongside the touring company. The education programmes are connected to the themes explored in Srishti’s touring work and address topical subjects with young people in particular.

Sharpe Academy

3 Year Diploma in Professional Musical Theatre starting September 2019 at Harrow Arts Centre. Ages 16+ Full Time Vocational Course in Musical Theatre.
The Sharpe Academy 3 Year Diploma in Professional Musical Theatre is a triple threat course for students aiming towards a career in the industry. Over 3 years students study all areas of performance. Classes include Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Contemporary, Acting for TV & Film, Stage Acting, Devised, Mime & Physical Theatre, Acrobatics, Stage Combat, Solo & Harmony Singing, Audition technique, History of Musical Theatre, Acting & Dance, Music Theory, Repertoire, Musical Theatre and Performance. Annual musicals and plays are presented and students complete their course with an agent showcase. Recognised qualifications are worked towards using the following boards: LAMDA, ISTD, Acrobatic Arts, RAD. Entry is by audition.
