Harrow Arts Centre are excited to promote this local production of 'Bizet's Carmen' on behalf of 'Trinity Orchestra', who have hired our venue for this special occasion.
Trinity Orchestra and friends return to Harrow Arts Centre for a complete concert performance of one of the most popular operas ever written, Bizet’s Carmen.
Conductor John Andrews once again brings together a stellar cast of celebrated vocal soloists, including Charmian Bedford, James Cleverton, Victoria Simmonds and Charne Rochford.
The orchestra is also delighted to welcome Kids Choir Harrow, directed by Tim Smith, to join them on stage.
Based on Prosper Mérimée’s novella of 1845, the opera is set in Seville, and portrays the story of Don José in a narrative of lust and obsession, as he is seduced by the alluring Spanish gypsy, Carmen. It is full of wonderful music and well-known, colourful tunes, including the Habanera and Toreador Song.
