This show is proudly presented by House of Rumi, who have hired our venue for this special occasion.
House of Rumi presents an unforgettable evening of Qawwali LIVE with Haider Hussain Qawwal and his talented ensemble.
Having established a name for himself through performances across the North of England, Haider Hussain now brings his captivating live sound to the capital for his debut London show at HAC.
Representing an exciting new generation of Qawwali performers, Haider combines powerful vocals, expressive improvisation and youthful energy with a deep respect for the rich tradition of Qawwali.
The evening will journey through traditional kalams, the poetry of the great Sufi mystics, soulful ghazals and much-loved favourites from film and television OSTs, bringing together both the devotional and contemporary sides of South Asian music.
The performance will also feature a special tribute to the legendary Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, celebrating the music and extraordinary legacy of one of Qawwali’s most influential voices.
From intimate, soul-stirring melodies to the exhilarating energy of a full Qawwali performance, expect an uplifting evening of soaring vocals, harmonium, tabla, devotional poetry and infectious rhythms, celebrating the spirituality, heritage and enduring appeal of Qawwali.
