Sanjay Sabha Live is a premium Carnatic concert series led by maestro Sanjay Subrahmanyan, accompanied by S. Varadarajan (violin) and Neyveli B. Venkatesh (mridangam). Launched digitally in 2021, it evolved into curated in-person performances known for rich alapanas, challenging RTPs, and a rasika-first approach, making world-class Carnatic music globally accessible.
About the Artist:
Sanjay Subrahmanyan is a distinguished Indian Carnatic vocalist and one of the leading figures in contemporary classical music. He is renowned for his powerful and expressive voice, exceptional command over ragas, intricate rhythmic patterns, and unwavering adherence to sruti precision. His performances are noted for their depth, energy, and ability to bridge traditional values with modern appeal.
In recognition of his outstanding contributions, he was conferred the prestigious Sangeetha Kalanidhi award by the Madras Music Academy in 2015, an honour that underscores his stature in the field.
He plays a pivotal role in broadening the audience for Carnatic music. With a substantial global following, Subrahmanyan continues to perform extensively across major venues, enriching the classical music landscape.
