Calling all artists aged 4-16!

In celebration of this year’s Platinum Jubilee, we are searching for budding artists to submit royal-themed work as part of our Young Artist Competition Exhibition, running from 28th May – 7th June 2022.

Applications will be split into three categories covering ages 4-7, 8-11 and 12-16, and judged via the following criteria:

• Interpretation of the Jubilee theme

• Vibrancy and creativity

• Innovative use of colour and texture

We are very excited to announce that the Mayor of Harrow will be leading the judging panel, along with professional artist Kerry Slack and professional photographer June Cadogan. Winning entries will each receive a £60 credit voucher and runners up will receive a £20 credit voucher, to use for any family event at HAC!

If you are looking for inspiration, Harrow Libraries have a special online Platinum Jubilee collection of ebooks and magazines. Parents and Guardians can sign up to be a Library member for free via: www.harrow.gov.uk/libraries/join-library. You can also attend their exciting craft and creative writing events leading up to the Jubilee!

We kindly ask that work is submitted in a flat format and no larger than A4 sized. Please include the name and age of the young artist with your application, as well as a contact email address or phone number.

Deadline: Friday 29th April 2022

Winning applicants will be contacted during the last week of May and there will be a prize-giving ceremony during our main Jubilee Celebration Day on Saturday 4th June at 2pm.
